Baby Card

A dear friend of mine had a baby a couple of days ago and I wanted to send a nice card along with her baby gift.  I know that one of these stamp sets are retired, but you could find a newer set to replace it with and it will be just fine.

I did some marker coloring and paper piecing on this card.  I stamped the woman image onto the card front in Early Espresso ink.  I then stamped it again onto a scratch sheet of paper in Pretty in Pink.  I cut out the dress and layered it onto the woman image.  With the greeting, I colored it with markers.  I had to ink the phrase twice in Pretty in Pink to get it dark enough to show.  With the help of my Stamp-a-ma-jig, it was easy!!!  Thanks for looking!

Elegant Birthday

My mother's birthday was this past weekend so of course I had to make a card for her.  I've been watching Krsitina Werner's 25 days of Christmas videos the last few weeks and she made a card that was this same size.  It looked so nice that I thought that I would give it a try.

The card measures 9" X 7" and is scored in half.  It will fit in a business size envelope.  For all the supplies, check the list below.  I embossed the pink pennants and the damask background with clear embossing powder and I love the way they turned out.  If you have any questions, please let me know!  Thanks for looking!

Jack-of-All-Trades

Here is the card that I created as my swaps for my monthly stamp group.  I had a customer request to hold a workshop in October and she wanted all Halloween themed projects.  I ordered this paper and this stamp set for that.  I couldn't wait to play with it.  I love the clear mount stamps.  They make 2 step stamping/layer stamping so much easier.

I first stamped the pumpkins in Pumpkin Pie, Soft Suede, and Lucky Limeade.  I then used a Versamark pad and black embossing powder for the faces.  I think the embossing buddy is one of the best inventions for paper crafting!!!  My pumpkins were practically flawless in regards to the heat embossing.  If you don't have one, I HIGHLY recommend purchasing one.

If you have any questions, please let me know.  Thanks for looking!!

Supplies:
Stamps: Jack of all Trades, Got Treats
Paper: Pumpkin Pie, Whisper White, Frightful Sight DSP
Ink: Pumpkin Pie, Soft Suede, Lucky Limeade, Basic Black (marker), Versamark

Aviary Birthday

Yes, I'm still here and creating......I know it's been like forever since I've posted.  Life has gotten really busy and before I knew it weeks went by without me posting anything.  Anyway..............

Here is a the make-and-take that we created at a workshop I held last month.  It was the first time that I got to use my big shot at a workshop!  One woman said "I don't want to use it. I'm afraid that I'll break it!"  I assured her that she couldn't break it when using it properly.  I personally really think it's a wonderful tool and every paper crafter should own one!!!

Thanks for stopping by and come back next week for a pumpkin card.  If you have any questions, please let me know!!

En Francais

This is the card that my customers created as their make-n-take at my last workshop.  They were experienced crafters so I was able to do a couple of techniques with this card.  It turned out really pretty and I'm very pleased with it.

We used the Gold Glow smooch spritz on the Early Espresso card stock and it is really pretty in real life.  This picture picked up a couple of the flecks.  If you have any questions, please let me know!  Thanks for stopping by!

Stamp Group Cards

It's that time of the month again......stamp group!!  This one is special because tomorrow is my birthday and I get to stamp on my birthday!! YEAH!!  This is a card that I demonstrated at my last workshop.  I liked it so much I thought I would make it my swaps for my stamp group.

This card was created using the marker to stamp technique.  This is done when you apply the marker ink directly to your stamp.  Then you "huff" on it and then stamp it onto your card.  If you have any questions about this technique, just let me know.

Thanks for stopping by!

Something Sweet Card

I created this card for the How Sweet it Is challenge over at http://craftspotbykimberly.blogspot.com/.  The challenge was to use some sweet treat on your project.  I haven't used this stamp set in a very long time so I thought I would give it a try!

I wanted to use seam binding that matched my project, but since the seam binding does not come in the new Lucky Limeade color, I created my own.   I placed the binding directly onto my ink pad and then I used a sponge to hold it on the top. I pulled the seam binding between the pad and sponge to apply the color.  After it dried, I attached it to my card.

When I was finished stamping the project, I applied crystal effects to the entire globe portion of the card.  I did use black craft ink and black embossing powder for the globe, so it helped keep the crystal effects inside.

I really enjoyed making this project and I hope you have enjoyed viewing it!  Thanks for looking!

Paper: Melon Mambo, Lucky Limeade, Peach Parfait, Whisper White

Watercolor Crayons

I came across a video last week using Stampin' Up! Watercolor Crayons.  It reminded me that it has been a really long time since I have pulled mine out and used them.  So, I pulled out my watercolor crayons and watercolor paper and got busy!

This stamp set is a level 2 hostess set in the Summer Mini catalog.  I took my crayon and colored directly onto the stamp while it was dry.  After I colored it, I applied water using a spray bottle and then I applied it to my paper.  When using this technique, make sure that you apply firm, even pressure to the stamp and let it sit for just a few seconds longer on your paper to make sure that you have a nice, dark image.  The crayon needs to "soak" into the paper a bit.  This was really fun and I might even make up a couple more of these for my stash!

If you have any questions, please let me know.  To order the supplies listed below, click HERE.  Have a great day!!

Buttons, Buttons, Buttons

I am putting together some door prize goodies for my monthly stamp group and I decided to make a few buttons.  Stampin' Up! carries this embosslit die
I used Stampin' Up! cardstock in  Pumpkin Pie, Daffodil Delight, and Melon Mambo to cut out the buttons.  After they were cut, I placed them on wax paper and applied a generous amount of Crystal Effects to the top of them to make them look more like real buttons.  I let them dry overnight.  I then peeled them off the wax paper and cut any excess Crystal Effects off of them.

I then stamped this button card image from a retired Sew Suite stamp set and placed the buttons on the cards using re-positional adhesive.  I used this so that the recipient can take these off and use them on their own project.
Finally, I packaged these up nice and cute with a small cellophane bag and a bit of Whisper White Baker's Twine.
